Jose Seixas Silva, M.D.

Jose Seixas Silva received his medical degree from the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. Following his graduation, he completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Ribeirao Preto, one of the most prestigious medical schools in Brazil. He then underwent Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, followed by a Hematology & Oncology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

During his fellowship, Dr. Seixas Silva had an active research role, particularly in the Head and Neck Cancer Program. While completing his fellowship, Dr. Seixas Silva also earned a postgraduate degree from the Clinical Research Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He has presented many scientific papers in Hematology and Oncology at meetings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Association of Hematology (ASH) and American Association of Cancer Research (AACR). He was awarded a Trainee Award for a presentation at the IV Head and Neck Research Workshop in 2002. He also made multiple Grand Round Presentations throughout his fellowship.

He is Board Certified in internal medicine, oncology, and hematology, and is a member of Medical Assocations such as American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Association for Cancer Research.
